About the project A Strategic Health
Authority is helping PCTs across its region to acquire and develop
commercial capability within the context of World Class Commissioning and
System Reform.
The Approach The SHA engaged Amtec to
fulfil the director-level role of Commercial Partnership Manager. The
consultant is providing commercial leadership and is the role model for
building commercial capability and acumen within the commissioning arms of
the PCTs.
Amtec is responsible for working in partnership with PCTs,
procurement hubs, and other collaborative initiatives that will deliver
improved capability based on measurable process improvement. The role also
encompasses World Class Commissioning assurance, focused on demonstrating
tangible results such as improved VFM within the PCTs and outcomes for
patients.
Working with the SHA and trusts to identify commercial
opportunities, Amtec is addressing SHA activities and issues and sharing
with other parties able to assist in resolution. Using skills transfer,
Amtec is leveraging DH Commercial Agency (CA) activities with the SHA and
Trusts, and extending market intelligence within the Commercial Agency and
the SHA.
Amtec's involvement includes project development work with the
SHA and Trusts to assist in delivery of existing initiatives to time, cost
and quality. Amtec is providing guidance on best practice in procurement and
acting as arbiter for decision-making on approaches to resourcing internal
or external consultancy.
