AMTEC Consulting has been awarded two Framework Agreements by the Ministry of
Defence (MOD), the first of which allows the company to provide support for
'Methods, Policies and Standards', including Project Management (using Prince2)
and Gateway Review. AMTEC also continues as a preferred supplier of IS and
Business Management support after the re-competition and renewal of its existing
framework.
Originally awarded the framework for IS and business management support in
2003, the two frameworks now run until 2010 with an option to extend until 2012.
AMTEC can now expand its role as a key supplier of consultancy services right
across the Ministry of Defence
and Armed Forces. The awarding authority, Defence Equipment and
Support (DE&S), was formed from the merger of the Defence Procurement
Agency (DPA) and the Defence Logistics Organisation (DLO). Its mission is to
equip and support the UK's armed forces for current and future operations.
The agreements allow DE&S to source AMTEC's services via a convenient
procurement route while avoiding the lengthy and costly open competition route.
"These framework wins are especially welcome as we look to build on our great
success in providing consultancy to the MOD, including numerous gateway and key
stage peer reviews. The frameworks complement our offerings through the
DE&S Framework Agreement for Technical Support (FATS2) and OGC's Catalist defence sector frameworks", says AMTEC Managing Director
Craig Wilson.
