AMTEC Consulting has been named as one of seven finalists for an MCA
Management Award in the new category of 'Operational
performance in the public sector'.
AMTEC was short-listed for its work on process improvement for the Health and
Safety Executive, a government organisation committed to protecting people
against risks to health or safety arising out of work activities.
"We're delighted to have been chosen for the shortlist",
said Managing Director, Craig Wilson. "AMTEC had an outstanding 2008
and is rated as one of the fastest growing firms in the consulting sector. This
is further recognition of our expertise in realising benefit from investment in
change."
Organised by the Management Consultancies Association in conjunction with Management Today
magazine, the shortlist of case studies for the 2009 awards recognises talented
and creative consultants who deliver enormous value for their clients. Criteria
used by the judging panel included the application of management skills,
achievement of project objectives, measurable results and the quality of the
client relationship.
AMTEC examined core
processes within HSE and used process improvement techniques, including Lean and Six Sigma, to identify and deliver efficiency savings.
Within the first 30 days of consultancy, AMTEC reduced the steps within four
business processes by 75% and produced a robust road map to realizing
significant efficiency savings. So successful was the pilot that it prompted an
immediate roll out into other areas of the organisation including HR and
Information Services. Winners of the awards will be announced at a prestigious awards ceremony for
700 industry professionals at the London Hilton on 27th April. Twelve businesses
will win their categories, with a Platinum Award going to the outstanding entry
across the board.
