A milestone in the modern history of the RAF was reached on Thursday 29th
April when Louise Boddington, a consultant with AMTEC, became the first non-MOD
civilian to be awarded a certificate for meritorious service.
Air Commodore Paul Oborn presents a certificate for meritorius service to AMTEC's Louise Boddington.
In a surprise ceremony held at the RAF Club in London's Piccadily, Air
Commodore Paul Oborn presented Louise with her commendation in appreciation for
service to RAF Number 2 Group during a consulting assignment, which ran from
January 2009 to February 2010. This military commendation will be announced in
conjunction with the Queen's Birthday Honours.
The client/consultant team went on to celebrate at the MCA Management Award
ceremony in Park Lane where the same assignment was recognised by the UK
consulting industry, the second year in a row that AMTEC has reached the
shortlist for these prestigious awards.
Louise was instrumental in transforming a major RAF programme, which was at
significant risk of failure. The consulting team delivered a robust and
stabilising programme management framework to put the programme back on track.
Presenting the award, Air Commodore Paul Oborn said "This award is a
unique reflection of the trailblazing work carried out by the team. I could not
have asked for a better, more proactive set of consultants to work on
establishing and driving forward Programme Future Brize. Exceptional support
provided by exceptional people."
On receiving the award, Louise said "This was a total surprise! I am
very proud of AMTEC's contribution to getting this major change programme back
on track. It was a real team effort and our success would not have been possible
without the tremendous 'can-do' attitude of the RAF programme
team."
